This role provides a unique opportunity to join a growing financial services team focused on an exciting client base across internal audit, regulatory, risk and compliance within a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from banking, insurance, funds management and private equity. Financial Services is a diverse and exciting industry providing a challenging learning environment supported by a highly engaged and focused group of partners and managers at Grant Thornton. No two days are the same and you will be given the guidance and tools to support our teams and industry clients while building on a range of diverse skills. As a new Associate you will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with the financial services team supporting other team members with a wide range of tasks from audit planning to fieldwork and reporting
  • Assisting with development of Internal Audit plans for each client
  • Assisting the senior team member with the execution of the Internal audits, risk and compliance engagements for various financial services and banking clients.
  • Developing skills to be able to identify priority areas of risk and process improvement by understanding the organisations systems, objectives, risks, control frameworks and regulatory environments.
  • Assisting with performing test plans and drafting of reports detailing results and observations for review by senior team members.
  • Preparation of complete and accurate audit work papers, utilising and applying the firm’s methodology; and
  • Caring for our team and clients and assisting with meeting engagement deadlines and all deliverables are met in a timely manner.

  • A client-centric approach to your work with a curiosity to understand firm’s clients and add value
  • Collaborative and consultative approach with working with diverse stakeholders from Associates up to Partners
  • The confidence to problem solves business risk and testing
  • The salary for this role will be no less that $65,000 AUD per annum inclusive of superannuation
